01.30.10 Photo of the Day

I don't know what is worse, the fact that I paid for these candies just to take a picture of them (I don't care for them) or the fact that out of the entire box these were the only readable ones. In one entire box, there were six. Oh, well. : )

01.29.10 Photo of the Day & Friday Photowalk

Alternate post title is:

Dedication:
1. a devoting or setting aside for a particular purpose
2. self-sacrificing devotion

I am dedicated to the Friday photo walk, completely, totally and 100%. Last week I was sick, on my deathbed type of sick and still I did one. Granted it was a drive, but that was only because I barely had the energy to snap a picture, much less walk somewhere. Now it’s week 3; the temperatures are in the mid 30’s and it’s raining. I thought about not going. I don’t own a heavy coat, just a bunch of small jackets. I also don’t own an umbrella. Such a random thing not to own, but I don’t have one. The reasoning is the same for both, for as little time as I would use both, I would rather just be without. Running between the car and insert place here is fine for me sans jacket or umbrella. Ironically, I do own not one but three pairs of rainboots, so I was all set on the footwear front. So, it’s cold and wet, but I am dedicated. I am going to do it. I just need to borrow an umbrella, not for me mostly for my camera. I am way more concerned about it. So I use my friend Natalie’s pink umbrella and I tuck my jeans into my rainboots and put on my light jacket and head out.

Seriously, this is what I looked like. Cute, huh? I could totally be a fashion model. All that being said (and shown). I did go to Glencoe Park, which is on my list of parks in the area to visit for these photo walks. There’s not really a lot here: a baseball diamond, a small playground, a tennis court and a small walking trail. It’s also right near the freeway, so it wasn’t very relaxing and I was so concerned about getting the camera wet.
This is the photo of the day. I debated it a lot. I purposefully got the umbrella in the shot and focused on the tree instead on the umbrella.  Not 1000% sure it was the right choice, but I've made it and it's the one I am sticking with. : )

This was on the ground.

You can see the reflection of the umbrella.

Graffiti

I love pictures of swings.

This is about three inches of water which I trudged through to get a better picture.

So sad.

And no one was playing tennis.

Raindrops. Sort of.

Baseball field.

The other side of the field.

The umbrella.

And if today wouldn't have been Friday and I wouldn't have gone on the walk, then this would've been my photo of the day.  Our local Starbucks is now carrying cupcakes.  It was awful. I mean really bad, but at least my boss bought it for me so it was free and it took a pretty picture! : )

You Capture: Color

Photobucket

This weeks theme over at I should be folding laundry is color. And boy could I use some today!  It dreary and rainy today in the Dallas area with sleet and snow expected later tonight. (Fun day tomorrow, for sure). So here are some of the colorful spots in the recent weeks!

Red and purple Skittles are my favorite!!

This is just a 10th of the soft drinks we have right now.  Big sales last weekend at both Alberston's and Kroger, plus coupons.  I love being a bargain shopper!

This is my new place mat for our dining room table.  To say I hate our dining room table is an understatement, so I keep trying to find things to make it look nicer, but I a pretty sure that's impossible.

This time money is blue!  (this came yesterday and I can't wait to buy me something fun with it!)

Go check out more colorful things over at I should be folding laundry!!

01.27.10 Photo of the Day

Today was price list printing day for me. I used two entire cases of that pretty green paper! I just wish that our outside sales people could embrace the computer era and not have any printed. It would certainly save trees. (however, I do love the beginning of every year when I pick out the new color for the price sheet. Last year was salmon and the year before that was an orange color...very girlie colors. So this year I went a little more manly)

01.26.10 Photo of the Day

All my red shoes. Hanging out together on my dresser in the closet. (there are four pairs, but you can really on see three).

01.25.10 Photo of the Day

Our new pan. We're replacing our Calphalon pans one at a time. You'd be surprised but the pan I use the most is the 3 quart saute pan. (I will also add that I can barely lift this pan). : )

Week 4: "Texture"

This weeks theme at I heart faces is texture. There is no denying that I added the textures in this photo and that, yeah I probably went a tad overboard.  That's ok.  I like the heart I drew in the middle, so I am happy. : )

Go check out more texture at I heart faces!

01.24.10 Photo of the Day

Call this the day I couldn't decide.  I took both these shots and I really like them both, but only one can go in the book.  A lot of people in my flickr group think the saw one is the coolest.  Any thoughts?

(I learned how to use this saw today)

01.23.10 Photo of the Day

I love rainboots. Not a little, but a whole bunch! Tonight I picked up these beauties from Target for $8. I love clearance sales! We also finally got a blu ray player.  First blu-ray movie ever - the Hangover. It was hysterical!

01.22.10 Photo of the Day & Friday Photowalk

Last week I decided I was going to do a weekly photowalk on my lunch break. Then I was sick this entire week. I only spent 8 hours total at work over two days. So today instead of a photowalk, I did a photo drive. Ditz drove me around for about twenty minutes (that was how long it took him to get bored) and I snapped a few pics.  This first one is the photo of the day.

I made him turn around and go back by the tree after we passed it once. (this is the first shot)

This is a different tree.

These were stairs that led up to a school out in the middle of nowhere.

Trucks.

There is our car's shadow.

Almost back home.

I heart faces: Fix It Friday

It's Friday and this is a special Fix It Friday:

The dad in this family has been struggling with cancer for years and they found out the devastating news in December that his cancer is now terminal. They are now doing everything they can to enjoy the rest of the time they have together on this earth.

I really wanted to do a good job on this weeks edit, so I tried to bring out the gold tones.  I might have gone a little overboard.  Check out other edits at I heart faces!

Ditz in Boston

Ditz was in Boston this week and came back with a few good pictures, so I thought I'd share!

Snow, man I love snow!

I especially love snow when there are blue skies!

Shot out of a moving car.

Holy moly that's a lot of snow.

I wish the sky would've been a little bluer in this picture. (It's part of a bridge)

American.

I only show you this one to explain the next one.

I thought this was cool.  It's the reflection one the window!

01.20.10 Photo of the Day

Foggy morning in Texas. I only captured this today because Chase gets fed at 7:30 and he made sure to wake me up. If Ditz would've been in town, I would've slept right through my POTD. And I guess if I wasn't sick I would've already been at work! : )

01.19.10 Photo of the Day

Still sick today. I had my second Dr. appointment in two days and the doctor added vicadin to my prescriptions.  I will tell you that shooting high is hard.  I took this photo before the next dosage of all the medicines and I will say that I was still borderline high. (Dayquil makes me loopy, imagine vicadin).  You should see some of the out takes (but I'm not going to show you because they are that bad).  This was the best I could do today.  I'm really not even sure that there is a focal point. : )

01.18.10 Photo of the Day

This little tree looks so lonely and the sky looks so beautiful! I thought it made a striking photo! I was sick when I took this picture, coughing and just plain ugh.  But I didn't want to miss my photo of the day and I wanted it to not be of medicine or the couch which have been what previous sick pictures have been of.  So, I dragged myself off the couch and drove to the edge of my neighborhood and snapped a few pictures.  I just loved the way it turned out and I am gald I got up to go and take it!
