09.30.10 POTD & Vacation Day 7

We did a lot of utilitarian things on this day. We had post cards to mail, heavy things to ship back home and we had to go to the jewelers and pick up my ring.  (Everything seemed cheaper up there so we had my rings re-rhodium plated since they were taking on a yellowish hue.) Oh yeah, and it was raining.  Rain sort of hampers getting out and doing things.
My photo of the day.  There is a cemetery in Sturbridge where there are Revolutionary War veterans buried.  Cemeteries always intrigue me so we stopped in and took a few pictures.

These little things were on several of the graves.

The sign leading in. I am pretty sure it was actually pouring when I took this.

We also stopped at the American Optical building which was built in 1902.  It is now the conference center and hotel.  They do have one portion of the old building still left.  This is from one of the fireplaces. That is marble and the details are amazing.

These are the part of the staircase.  How cool is that?
