Friday Photo Walk. The Dallas filter building on White Rock Lake in Dallas. I took a total of 65 pictures on this photo walk, which is about a hundred less than normal. And the majority of them were of this sign / building combination. I just loved it.

Yummmm, tacos. I recently discovered that we eat more tacos than anyone else we know. It's my go to dish when I don't want to cook and that's a lot of the time. : ) The ladies at work make fun of me for the number of times that my leftovers are tacos, so much so that everytime I have left overs that's the first thing they think it is! (PS - I like my rice in my taco, I won't eat it seperate).

My AC went out on my car and it was miserably hot on my way to take my car in for service. Luckily they had this really awesome (ha-ha) waiting room for me to sit in and fill out paperwork. This was taken when I still thought the repairs would only be a few hundred bucks. Boy was I wrong. : (

Friday Photo Walk. Today I stumbled on this splash park in Dallas. I got very lucky that today was the day that they chlorinated the water so no one could play in it. Otherwise I am certain that there would have been tons of little kids and we all know that I don't shoot pictures of little kids! : ) Looks like it would be loads of fun.

Some day my vision for this shot will be realized. Today is not that day, but I will post it any way. I love these lights that are in one of the hallways in our culinary center. I wanted the lights to be on, but there are about 75 light switched (I am absolutley not exaggerating there) for the culinary center and no one was there to turn on the lights for me. I flipped a few switches and then gave up. Next time I will shoot the other direction and will do it earlier in the morning.
Fire! My boss, I kid you not, told me to get closer to the fire. He'd make sure that if anything bad happened he'd make sure I got credited with the photo. (He was joking). This is the building directly behind us in the alley. I took this shot from righ outside my office window. Then I had one of the girls in the office drive me around, but my fire truck pictures were not that great. They evacuated about a thousand people for a few hours in the 100 degree heat. (And I thought the picture needed some moodiness so I added a yellow tint to it).

these are the two books that are currently sitting on my couch that I am flipping through while Ditz watches TV. I found the Boston book for a dollar at Half Price Books and you never know when you might need to know what's going on in Boston. And as much as I wish it were, that Lightroom book is not the one that Ditz won for winning our photo walk. That's the one that I paid money for. Ugh.
old Alton Bridge in Denton, Texas. One of my favorite random places to photograph. Ditz and I were out on a drive and I begged to go. We saw some stupid teenagers jump off the bridge and then we told the cops. We are such old fuddy duddies.
School supplies are on sale as school is getting ready to start. Who can resist a box of Crayola crayons for a quarter. Obviously I can't even though I didn't need them at all. Just thought they'd be fun to photograph when I was looking for inspiration!
Friday Photo Walk. This marks the third time that I have made a sewer cover my POTD. I am sure it's because I am short and so close to the ground that I tend to notice them...or I just have some strange attraction to sewer covers. : )
A quick stroll through a park on my way home from work today. I don't know why but everyday this week I've stopped to take pictures. I loved this little guy. I've named him Bill. He's very rustic for sure. I am not certain that I'd let my kid play on this particular playground, but it sure made for some great pics!

Can someone say overgrown? No, this isn't our house. This is one of the side walks that run through the soon to be started shops, the same one from the do not enter sign from yesterday. I am still not brave nough to hop the fence, but I was brave enough to move closer to the highway to get this shot.
Do Not Enter. I mean seriously, this perfectly functional road that goes through a perfectly functional piece of real estate. Seriously, it's no kidding. They don't want you on the road before they build the stores that said road is going to connect. See my problem with that is see that speed limit sign? Right behind it looks to be the most perfect patch of sunflowers. But I will not enter because I am a weeny and believe that the sign must be there for a reason and I'd be the one to get a ticket.

This is where I show you that those sunflowers I have some strange obsession with are just weeds. They aren't planted in pretty little rows, they just grow wild and unkempt. And I think that is what I like about them most
Friday Photo Walk. How cool is this? It's a leaf with another leaf "floating" on top of it causing the cool shadow. The second leaf is floating on what looks to be spider webs. It was pretty darn cool.

Do you ever wonder what happens when I have absolutely nothing to take a picture of?? I use either a list of ideas that Katrina made or I hop onto Flickr and view the explore feature looking for something interesting...and that's how I would up here. A photography laden scrabble "game."

Heaven forbid we ever have kids. Just the toys alone from one little dog are enough to make me crazy sometimes. This is his favorite ball right now - it's bigger than him but because it's soft he can get it into his mouth and carry it. Too funny.
